4 easy ways to switch to a dairy-free diet

All articles

Thinking of going dairy-free? A dairy free diet is good for milk allergies, supports veganism and can benefit your overall health.

But switching to a dairy-free diet can sound daunting, heck, even scary. No one wants to cut the good stuff out of their diet like ice cream, cheese and chocolate.

Fortunately, nowadays there are lots of clever and simple ways to cut out lactose and dairy without feeling like you’re compromising on taste. It’s easier than ever to make the switch, just look at our top tips to get started.

1. Butter your toast with almond butter

Almond butter contains healthy fats and fibres, calcium and magnesium (which is also good for your bones). Plus it’s also delicious, especially when you add some flavoured almonds to the recipe. It’s easy to make too and you only need two ingredients; try it with two packs of our Roasted with Sea Salt Flavoured Snack Almonds and some raw almonds. Once you’ve made it you can conveniently keep it in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Want to give it a whirl? Here’s our recipe.

2. Top your coffee with Almond Breeze

Our Almond Breeze® range is deliciously creamy and will complement your coffee perfectly. If you have a milk frother, you can even make your coffee Barista-style with the help of our Almond Breeze® Barista Blend. It was made in collaboration with actual Baristas to ensure it’s extra creamy, frothy and delicious.

3. Tweak your breakfast

Cereal, porridge, overnight oats, bircher and smoothie bowls… what do they all have in common? Well, besides all being delicious and nutritious breakfasts, they can all be easily made using our Almond Breeze® too. Lighter and, dare we say it, even yummier. Make the breakfast switch and decide for yourself.

4. Try a better way to enjoy sweet treats

We’ve already mentioned it once and we’re happy to do it again, cutting out dairy doesn’t have to compromise on taste. You can still enjoy sweet treats and we’ve got the proof too in the form of our indulgent Almond Butter Blondies, which are guaranteed to hit your sweet spot.

With a few simple changes, it’s easy to make the dairy-free switch. You can even start by following these tips one at a time, and before you know it you’ll be living dairy-free with no fuss.
